Summary
The tale of Samuel Whiskers: Tom Kitten and his sisters Mittens and Moppet are determined not to be shut away while their mother does her baking. Mittens and Moppet hide in the flour barrels and naughty Tom escapes up the chimney, where he meets the fat old rat Samuel Whiskers. Samuel tries to make poor little Tom into a roly-poly pudding for dinnerThe tale of Tom Kitten and Jemima Puddle-Duck: Moppet, Mittens and adorable Tom Kitten try to keep clean and tidy for their mother's tea party, and Jemima Puddle-duck encounters a foxy gentleman whose sinister plans include making Jemima the main course for dinner. The Tailor of Gloucester: An old tailor sets to work to make a magnificent coat for the Mayor of Gloucester's wedding on Christmas morning. When the tailor falls ill with a fever, the coat is finished by mysterious helpers who leave only one clue to their identity-- a tiny note pinned to an unfinished buttonhole saying "No more twist."
