Summary
Located in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado, the Georgetown Loop Railroad was built in the 1870's to serve the booming mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume. This narrow gauge line was an engineering wonder of its time, rising over six hundred feet between the two towns, making numerous sharp curves and actually looping over itself to negotiate the grade in a spectacular canyon. In addition to the beautiful scenery and fascinating history, the ride includes a tour of the old Silver Plume mine. The boom days of the Old West come alive at the Georgetown Loop Railroad
